WSED next - a conference for young researchers

The conference "WSED next" offered a platform for presenting the work of young researchers and for interaction with experts and decision makers from industry and institutions.

Young researchers (born after 1978) were invited to submit contributions.

The WSED next conference focused on biomass and energy efficiency in buildings.

A high-level scientific committee selected papers for oral or poster presentation.

The organiser of the WSED, the OÖ Energiesparverband, covered the costs for accommodation, meals, participation and local transport for up to 60 selected participants for 3 conference days (arrival: 25 February, departure: 28 February).

Submissions were invited from any scientific field (e.g. technology & engineering, economic and social sciences, law, arts, etc.) and had to be in English only.

The best contributions were honoured with the "Young Researchers Award for Biomass" and the "Young Researchers Award for Energy Efficiency": The researcher(s) and the respective institute each received 1,000 Euro as prize money.
After the conference, a conference book will be published by Springer (with the papers that were selected for oral presentations).

The WSED next conference in 2014 built upon two very successful events (held in 2012 and 2013), each of them attracting contributors from more than 25 countries.
